Our Golden Girls Birdy and Duchee are best friends and we hope they get to spend their golden years in a loving home together. Birdy and Duchee are special Senior pets who were surrendered together to the Arizona Humane Society as a result of a foreclosure. Lost Our Home Pet Foundation took these girls in to prevent them from being euthanized at the shelter due to their age. Birdy and her sister Duchee are very bonded and we'd really love it if they can stay together on the buddy system, their adoption fee would be $150 for both of them if they could stay together. Birdy and Duchee are on a weight management program since they are overweight (it's easier than weight watchers though). Birdy loves to go for walks and chase and retrieve the tennis ball. She will pick up her food bowl and take it out to the grassy backyard and lay down and eat. So cute!! They are both great with young and old kids and other dogs (not sure about cats yet since we have not seen them with cats). Duchee is very laid back and likes to hang out. She`s not too interested in playing fetch but at the same time she is more alert and likes to patrol the backyard. They are the perfect dogs in that they are mellow in the house and will be a couch potato with you, but active when you bring them outside. They will even take you for a bike ride if you stop pedaling and lift your feet. Although it appears that these girls were neglected and discarded, they are VERY sweet with no behavioral issues and still have a lot of love to give and life to live. Won`t you consider giving these special girls a home during their much deserving golden years? These would be the PERFECT dogs for someone who wants to have two, loving, loyal great companions and not have to go through the puppy phase.

Help for 4-legged foreclosure victims

It's bad enough when a family loses its home. It's indescribably awful when they drive away and leave the family dog or cat behind to starve.

Yet, in the midst of the foreclosure crisis, it's nearly an everyday occurrence. As a Phoenix-area mortgage broker who was known for her love of animals, Jodi Polanski heard about these cases all the time from the real estate agents she worked with -- the agents would enter a vacant, foreclosed home to show it to a buyer and encounter a dog trapped in the yard or a cat locked in a closet.

Ethel & Kaylee’s Happy Ending

Ethel and Kaylee joined our family 8 months ago and are the center of our home. They were fear dogs when we got them, shy of people, animals and loud noises. People thought we were crazy to take two females from the same litter, but a little sibling rivalry is workable. We put them through training to give them a happier balanced life, a work in progress but they have done excellent. Whether we are out running in the desert or in the back yard playing ball the girls are just looking to share the love. We are very thankful that Lost Our Home was able to fill the need we had and that we were able to fill the need they had.

Amelia was rescued from a foreclosed home after being left by her owners. They left her with no food and a pool as her source of water (which was covered in 2 inches of green sludge). Amelia was living at a house that was not fenced and, although she was free to roam the streets, she stayed close to the house waiting for her owners to return; they never did.

Once Amelia made it to a rescue and received vet care, it was learned that Amelia has hip dysplasia. At the tender age of ten (10) months old it is presumed Amelia was born with this condition. Though Amelia has no hip sockets, she is still the happiest dog you will ever meet! She will only show you love and happiness, and never pain.

Fortunately, with your help, Amelia can lead a wonderful, athletic life once she can receive hip surgery. Please help us to cover the costs to give Amelia the surgery she so needs and deserves. We thank you for your kindness and are forever appreciative for any contribution donated toward Amelia's cause.
