This is Sylvie. Sylvie is a total sweetheart who has fallen on some bad luck lately. We believe she gets overstimulated from too much touch and petting, which causes her to nip at people. She is still a very affectionate cat that seeks out attention and companionship. She would do best in a home with older kids (13+) who can better understand her body language and temperament. She follows staff and volunteers around in her room at the shelter, meowing at people for attention. She will headbutt hands and arms to allow you to continue petting her. She likes to relax in people's laps and can stay there for over half an hour if allowed (it has happened before!). She just wants people to go at the pace she sets for herself. She also enjoys play quite a bit, chasing after toys on strings and things that roll and jingle. Playing with her and giving her attention on her approval is key to a healthy relationship together. She is a smart cat and knows when other cats are getting adopted. She would do best either in a family that can give her plenty of attention or with an owner that works from home.
