Due to growing COVID-19 concerns, Lost Our Home Pet Rescue is limiting the number of pets we take in to ensure we have enough people available to care for the pets at the shelter. Until further notice, we will not be accepting new pets into our programs unless in extreme emergencies. We appreciate your support and trust in us as we all work together through this difficult time.
Lost Our Home recognizes that crisis situations don’t just affect people, they affect their pets as well.
Lost Our Home has the most comprehensive program in the Valley that offers temporary pet care due to crisis situations.
Are you experiencing any of these circumstances?
- Domestic Violence
- Medical Treatment/Rehabilitation
- Financial Hardship
- Other Crisis Situations
If you are struggling with a crisis situation, Lost Our Home offers a Temporary Care Program for families in need of a temporary home for their pet(s). The purpose of this program is to provide care for pets to reunite pets with their families following a crisis. This program offers up to 90 days of care. Please read through the following in its entirety to learn more.
Lost Our Home is not only dedicated to rehoming pets in need, but also reuniting pets and their families after a crisis.
Dogs: Rabies vaccination, Distemper/Parvo (DA2PPv) vaccination, Bordatella vaccination, proof of spay/neuter.
Cats: FVRCP vaccination, negative FeLV/FIV test, proof of spay/neuter.
In cases where pets may be missing vaccinations, we can assist. Pets that are a part of our Temporary Care Program must be spayed/neutered either before entering the program or while they are in the program (we can provide vouchers for free spay/neuter). If you do not wish to spay/neuter your pet(s), we are unfortunately unable to assist.
Temporary Care Program Fees
The cost of having your pet(s) in our Temporary Care Program will be determined prior to your pet(s) checking in. A Lost Our Home staff member will discuss this with you based on your situation. Costs for the Program can be paid weekly/monthly. Owners are responsible for reimbursing costs for spaying/neutering and/or any vaccinations that Lost Our Home provides. Lost Our Home uses email as a primary source of contact. Please be sure to routinely check your email for our response, including any questions we may have about your Temporary Care Program application.
If a staff member of Lost Our Home contacts you, and you do not respond within 48 hours, your spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list. Please note that due to the high demand of this program, Lost Our Home is not always able to assist right away. In circumstances that we are not able to help immediately, we do have a waitlist that your pet(s) can be placed on.
